This past Saturday, a group of Seabury Hall Middle School and Upper School students volunteered at Pu’u Kukui Elementary School for the fourth session of the Maui Math Circle to help students learn advanced math concepts and problem solving skills.
There were over 40 students in attendance who are enrolled in third, fourth, and fifth grade in schools throughout Maui. The students learned about geometry concepts involving perimeter and area, and how these concepts related to rectangles, triangles, squares, and circles.
We would like to thank our math team coach, Mitchell Krulewich. Thank you to our student leaders, Kalan Birnie '17, Xinyun Cao '15, Nicolas Colon '14, Jasmine Doan '15, Shelby Ferrier '18, Ethan Finberg '14, Melia Fong '18, Lilia Maeda '16, Bjorn Nelson '16, Corin Nishimoto '15, David Shiraki '19, Kaitlyn Takeno '19, and Kady Tanaka '19. Thank you to David Cabanero, a Baldwin High School student who also volunteered.
